Who We Are
Underground Games is an Austin, TX based start-up company dedicated to developing "hybrid" retail establishments offering products and entertainment, focused on the booming home-based video game market. Our first storefront opened in Spring 2009 in San Marcos, TX (just south of the Austin area), within walking distance of Texas State University. Underground Games recognizes the need to differentiate in a largely commoditized space. As such, the Company has put enormous focus on revamping the existing customer interaction model prevalent throughout the industry.Currently, video game consumers are greeted at their local video game store by a disheveled, unorganized, cramped space that encourages nothing more than a speedy purchase decision and a quick exit. Customers are pressured for “pre-orders”, a commodity industry’s way of increasing forecasting accuracy and offered little or no guidance on products of interest.

What We Do
We offer retail video game hardware and software, and Pay-4-Play services, for Microsoft’s Xbox360, Sony’s Playstation 3 , along with Nintendo’s DS and Wii. The Company has placed significant focus on creating a sleek, inviting space with amenities such as complementary Wi-Fi access, vending, comfortable furnishings, and numerous Xbox360, Playstation 3, and Wii stations for customers to compete, cooperate and socialize while enjoying the latest games on the best gear.Our primary retail offerings consist of new and used video games for only the latest generation of home-based video game platforms. We focus on hardware, software and accessories for Microsoft’s Xbox360, Sony’s Playstation 3 (PS3), Nintendo’s DS and Wii platforms, we also offer select titles of anime DVD’s.
Our primary service offering is our Pay-4-Play service which allows customers, for a small hourly fee, to play any in-store game on any of our 360’s, PS3’s or Wii’s. Customers can cooperate with or compete against fellow gamers via both a local (in-store) high-speed network and a high-speed pipe to the online networks offered by Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. In addition to cooperation and competition, the Pay4Play Service also offers customers the option of trying any title on any system prior to making a purchase decision.
